Dual GIP and GLP-1 Receptor Co-Agonism
Tirzepatide (CAS 2023788-19-2, molecular weight 4813.45 Da) is a 39-amino-acid synthetic peptide carrying a C20 fatty diacid chain, and it is the first compound in the incretin class to engage two receptors at once. Native GLP-1 and GIP are gut hormones released after a meal; both raise insulin secretion, but only in the presence of glucose, which is why incretin signalling raises insulin without driving it in a fasted state. Tirzepatide binds the GLP-1 receptor with roughly the affinity of native GLP-1 and the GIP receptor considerably more strongly, making it functionally GIP-biased rather than balanced. GLP-1 receptor occupancy slows gastric emptying and acts on hypothalamic appetite circuits; GIP receptor occupancy contributes additional insulinotropic effect and appears to act on adipose tissue insulin sensitivity. The fatty diacid chain binds serum albumin, which is what extends the half-life from minutes to roughly five days and allows once-weekly dosing in the clinical literature. Across the SURPASS 1 through 5 trials, 5 to 15mg weekly produced HbA1c reductions of 1.24 to 2.58 percent and weight reductions of 5.4 to 11.7kg.
What ships on this SKU
One lyophilized vial, 30mg net tirzepatide peptide. CAS 2023788-19-2 and the 4813.45 Da molecular weight appear on the label and are repeated on the lot certificate of analysis.
Reconstitution arithmetic
30mg of dry peptide reconstituted with 1.5mL of bacteriostatic water gives 20mg/mL; 3mL gives 10mg/mL. The vial ships dry and contains no diluent, so bacteriostatic water is a separate line item on your order.
Storage printed with the goods
Sealed lyophilized vial: −20°C long-term, and the dry powder tolerates ambient shipping. Once reconstituted, refrigerate at 4°C and use within the window stated on your CoA, commonly up to four weeks.
